Family, Ohana, Familia

Hi all, today I want to write about how joyous I am about my family coming into town! My family from Hawaii is coming into town today and I couldn't be more excited. I haven't seen them in about 5 years and so much has changed in that amount of time that it is gonna be so crazy to see them. Now, these aren't my closest family members that I have in Hawaii but still they are family and seeing anyone from there gives me the taste of home that I always crave. Speaking of a taste of home, I wanna say that this past weekend was the annual Aloha Festival at Tempe Town Lake there was food, dancing, culture and more Hawaiian's then you ever expect to see in one place. It is a thing that I have gone to for most of my life and it was a great way to start of the excitement to see my coming family. Family is something that I do not take for granted like I feel a lot of teenagers do. I was blessed with a loving strong family who has lived through many trials and I think that without my family I would have turned out to be a completely different person then I am today! I know this isn't as exciting to you as it is to me but, I think you know the feeling that I am experiencing, you know that feeling you get when you are a young kid and you have to try to go to sleep before the first day of school, or even CHRISTMAS, yeah that is the feeling I have. I come from the type of family that is almost to loving we accept everyone for the way they are and if one of us messes up we don't care, your family and we love you. I know that is how a lot of families are but every family is different. My family has a crazy undeniable love that fills your heart as you enter the room and I promise if you came to meet my family I am sure you will tell me that they are crazy but awesome as well. Well, I have to clean the house and cook for this wonderful few days that I am about to have. Happy Spring Break all my GCC readers hope you all come back to school with lovely tan lines and some well needed sleeping hours. Peace, Love, and Happiness.

Entry #3: How fast can we learn

Hello there, today I am writing about the new faster courses that ASU is offering to its students. I have read about it on this article from the Arizona Republic. http://www.azcentral.com/arizonarepublic/news/articles/2011/02/22/20110222arizona-state-university-shorter-classes.html?nclick_check=1 Now, personally I am the type of girl who like school the traditional way. I like to be able to do my work in a timely fashion and I like to understand what I am learning before I just move on to the new topic. I am the type of learner that need visual aid and extra help if I need it. I do understand though, that other people learn in all kinds of ways. Everyone is diverse and we all take things in different context, so I can see as to why people would like to have class this way. I would not take these classes personally, but I do think it is very creative for ASU to think for this. Although, I do think that they have to consider which classes they are offering in these protocols, because as I was reading the comments people are becoming frustrated with the fact that engineering classes are offered like this. I would have to agree with that because engineering is a difficult major, and to condense even more is probably very challenging for the students. ASU has to take into account how well these students are really doing in these situations. If they are doing poorly, then what is the point of offering these classes compared to the traditional type if no one is doing well in them. ASU to me is a very good school, but to others is has a lot to be desired, so that plus the fact that students would get less time to learn can cause employers to take a deep look in to hiring a ASU grad. I think if you can learn in this environment then you should take these classes if you think they fit your needs, if not then don't. We are all students, adults, people of the real world we can make our own decisions. ASU is not telling us we have to take these classes, they are giving us the option and it is our own choice if we take it. They are considering the students life outside of school when they thought of this. Many people have full time jobs, families, kids to raise and bills to pay. These classes give us the chance to spend less time in the class room and more time taking care of the things that we need to handle. I am an ASU girl so I am glad that they are thinking of new and inventive to get students to the school. So that's all, Peace, Love, and Happiness.

Love, is love, is love!

Hello my fellow bloggers, going on the topic of my last past I want to continue on my opinion on being gay, and if they should be married and given the same rights that we are? I say why not? When did love become a political issue? I personally think that if you love someone, no matter what sex they are, or what race they are, you should be able to marry them. We do not live in a world where these things aren’t common, and maybe this is my opinion because I am from the younger generation and it has become a part of my lifestyle to just become used to these types of things in society. Now, I don’t remember if I have claimed a religion to all of you yet here on my blog but if I haven’t, let me be the first to tell you that I am Catholic. I believe in all the harsh topics like, pro-life and giving up things for lent, and in confession and all that jazz, but if there is one thing that I want to speak out about its gay rights! I am the type of girly girl that believes in LOVE, and I feel like those who are in love should be able to share in that love whichever way they choose. If a gay couple wants to get married they should get married, if they aren’t bothering you why do you feel that you should bother them. The only reason they are a problem in your life, is because you are letting them be a problem. Just think, if we allowed gay couples to be together, and get married and adopt children, could you imagine how many kids will be adopted into a loving family instead of being passed from home to home. These couples could provide then with not only love but hope, trust, respect and a family to call their own. I am not trying to impose my views on anyone but I felt if I was gonna write about gay marriage I might as well state my whole opinion. I am open to hearing any response to any one of my beliefs, because I am not here to judge and I like to speak freely about why I believe in the things that I do. So that is all in the mind of a GMC. Peace, Love, and happiness bloggers.

Entry #2 Slanted for all to see

Hi all,  I am here today to talk about one particular slanted report that I found more then interesting! Here is the link for it if you want to watch it before I jump right into this! http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/05/09/shep-smith-obama-21st-century-gay-marriage_n_1503849.html To start, I want to say that I really don't like the way that this man is speaking, I feel as though he is being very condescending which makes me not what to watch any other report that this man does. When it comes to gay marriage, I am all for it but if you are a new reporter like this man I am pretty sure that you are not suppose to let people know how you feel about he issue. He is not only trying to break the news to the people that Obama is now for gay marriage but he is also trying to let the public know exactly what is view on this is as well. He also gives away his political party by attacking the Republican's, which is probably gonna cause him to lose viewers. His audience might feel that he has no right to attack this political party, which I completely agree. He should be more conscience because he is not representing himself when he is on TV he is representing a whole  company, and by his actions he could cost them a lot of viewers which in the end costs then a lot of money.
As I looked up more information on this Shep Smith, I found that he has done many thing that make me question if I would ever really want to watch a news report by him. For one, he has clearly stated his opinion here and two he has aired a SUICIDE on television. If suicide isn't already hard enough to talk about he had to go so much further as to air it on TV. He has made Fox news into his own little opinion show and if the producers at this station can't see that yet, they won't be able to until, he has lost all of his viewers and all the respect that the company has gained. When watching the video is clear that he has strong opinions about gay marriage, but I feel as though, when you take the job as head anchorman you know that there is a time and a place for you to voice you thoughts and that is not on national television.
