The end is near!!!
In this blog I would like to talk about the END OF THE SEMESTER. I need to let off some stress about how I am dealing with the semester and I couldn't think of a better way then my blog! I am so excited for summer, the sun, the time to myself, the not having to worry about homework and test, the tans, the food, family, fun, swimming, sleep and the friends. The list goes on and on and it is very hard to conceal my excitement. It is so hard that I find myself not going to class and now I am truly stressed with finals right around the corner. I can't believe that I am going to be done with my first year of college. It is so important to me to be apart of the college lifestyle. My family has always been my support system and there is nothing more that I want then to make them proud. I need to buckle down and push through this last week just like the rest of you. This is not only a rant but it is an encouragement for all for my college readers no matter where you are. You are almost done, and you have worked so hard to stop right now. Keep reading, and writing, get smarter and do better, not only for yourself but for all those who believe in you. Remember to always believe in yourself. This semester is almost over and than we can party. So don't stress my friend, we are almost there and we can do. If no one else believes in us at least we believe in ourselves. I know that I am working as hard as I possibly can to provide for myself and to be able to say that I accomplished something. That I worked hard to better myself and the person that I am. I am doing all this hard work and stressing to become the best person that I want to be! You can too. Peace love and happiness and good luck to us as we continue to work towards our dreams
Entry #5 Media Snythesize: Media and how I perceive it.
Considering that i never really thought of media as such a powerful thing until we began talking about it in my English class, I now notice so many things in the media that I have never noticed before. Media is so powerful that it make make you hungry when you just ate. It can make you want to buy a product just to be able to sleep better when you already sleep perfectly, or as a female it can make you laugh at how some companies portray how well tampons will hold when you are doing crazy things like flips and stuff. Not only do I find that media is annoying but also funny I find that we pay so much attention to it that we don't even notice. We do not realize that the tevelvison shows that we watch are apart of the media. We don't see that our fashion comes from the types of shows that we watch. We are so close to media that we fail to see it as something that can potentially be threatening to us. In my life all I see are the tv commercials, that either make me really hungry or really happy, or even truly sad. I find myself getting sucked into tricks on the screen that make me so hungry I don't even understand how they can possibly do that from a screen. I notived that in my family the media makes people try to be perfect. My little cousin has to always look amazing, she has to look like the girls on the screen, just as skinny as them and have the same style as them. I want so much for her to be her own person but she doesn't understand that her life revolves around being as perfect as the media wants her to be. The media has also worked some good in my family. Though the shows such as diners, dive-ins and dives and man vs. food is suppose to get people to go to these places, it has made my family really think about how we eat and how much we eat, and how food shouldn't be the driving factor in our life to go out of state. We began eating healthy and taking meat out of our diet and we are learning that food isn't as important as we or the media make it to be. The media shouldn't be as powerful as we make it. We should be making the media what it is. We should have what is going to be good for us and our kids and the community in the media. We need to create a world were we are less interested in the media and what they have to say and more concerned with our life and families and living a better life. Peace, love and happiness bloggers. :)
A personal love.
THE LOVE THAT YOUNG KIDS LIKE MYSELF GO THROUGH IS SOMETIMES TRIVIAL AND THEY BREAK UP AND GET BACK TOGETHER AND IT LIKE NOTHING HAPPENED. IN THIS POST I WANT TO TALK ABOUT MY LOVE. I HAVE THE BEST GUY EVER. WE WENT TO HIGH SCHOOL TOGETHER BUT WE WEREN'T FRIENDS. WE NEVER TALKED AND WE DIDN'T HAVE THE SAME GROUP OF FRIENDS. OVER THIS PAST SUMMER WE HAD A MUTUAL FRIEND AND WE JUST GREW CLOSE. WE ARE NOW IN OUR SIXTH MONTH AND ITS SO GREAT. I KNOW THIS MIGHT BE A LITTLE TO PERSONAL FOR BLOGS BUT I AM SO HAPPY AND ITS A HARD THINK T NOT TALK ABOUT ON A THINK LIKE THIS. THE HAPPINESS THAT I GET FROM HIM IS ONE THAT I HAVEN'T HAD SINCE I WAS A KID. I HAD THE TYPE OF LIFE THAT WAS ONE WHERE I GREW UP VERY QUICKLY. MY MOM HAD STAGE 3 COLON CANCER AND MY DAD HAD HEART DISEASE SO I ALWAYS HAD TO BE A BIGGER GIRL THAN I WAS. WHEN I MET ANDREW HE MADE ME FEEL LIKE I COULD BE HAPPY AGAIN KNOWING THAT I HAVE EVERYONE THAT I LOVE, LOVING ME. I AM HAPPY AND I KNOW THAT HE IS AND WE HAVE EACH OTHER. SO THAT IS MY LOVE RANT. HE IS VERY SPECIAL TO ME AND I CAN'T GO A DAY WITHOUT SEEING HIM.
Entry #4 Capitalism Rhetoric: A Love Story??
Michael Moore's movie, Capitalism: A love story was far from a love story. Now to normal people a love story is happy, they fall in love they fall out of love but in the end the guy gets the girl. But in this love story it is about our country. We have such an utter love for our country that we tend to look over the big problems that we have until the important elections. This film truly made me think that maybe I should pay more attention to who I vote for. This is truly not how I view that day of class would be. This film made me angry because it terrible that we live in a world where it is okay to treat people the way some of these corporations do. Why is that we have people who have no money and can't pay for a house and others that have to much money that they could never spend in ten lifetimes. This film is one that I think more people should watch because the audience in this film is truly everyone. Everyone should know what our government does and what large corporations do to us, US as a whole country. I feel so connected to this movie because my family had to move out of our house to another and because of the bank. It was so sad, that was were I grew up my whole life, and all my memories were there. It was hard but I now know that it is what we basically had to do! We had no choice, we now live in a house that is perfect for us and now I don't see it as a bad thing but I think I was so mad and this movie just hit home so hard. It made me so mad that humans can treat each other so horribly that they can just out a whole family out on the street, only to make more money! The film as a strong impact on me and I hope that it was on others as well. It was funny when it needed to be and serious when it had to be, I truly enjoyed it.

Family, Ohana, Familia

Hi all, today I want to write about how joyous I am about my family coming into town! My family from Hawaii is coming into town today and I couldn't be more excited. I haven't seen them in about 5 years and so much has changed in that amount of time that it is gonna be so crazy to see them. Now, these aren't my closest family members that I have in Hawaii but still they are family and seeing anyone from there gives me the taste of home that I always crave. Speaking of a taste of home, I wanna say that this past weekend was the annual Aloha Festival at Tempe Town Lake there was food, dancing, culture and more Hawaiian's then you ever expect to see in one place. It is a thing that I have gone to for most of my life and it was a great way to start of the excitement to see my coming family. Family is something that I do not take for granted like I feel a lot of teenagers do. I was blessed with a loving strong family who has lived through many trials and I think that without my family I would have turned out to be a completely different person then I am today! I know this isn't as exciting to you as it is to me but, I think you know the feeling that I am experiencing, you know that feeling you get when you are a young kid and you have to try to go to sleep before the first day of school, or even CHRISTMAS, yeah that is the feeling I have. I come from the type of family that is almost to loving we accept everyone for the way they are and if one of us messes up we don't care, your family and we love you. I know that is how a lot of families are but every family is different. My family has a crazy undeniable love that fills your heart as you enter the room and I promise if you came to meet my family I am sure you will tell me that they are crazy but awesome as well. Well, I have to clean the house and cook for this wonderful few days that I am about to have. Happy Spring Break all my GCC readers hope you all come back to school with lovely tan lines and some well needed sleeping hours. Peace, Love, and Happiness.
Entry #3: How fast can we learn
Hello there, today I am writing about the new faster courses that ASU is offering to its students. I have read about it on this article from the Arizona Republic. http://www.azcentral.com/arizonarepublic/news/articles/2011/02/22/20110222arizona-state-university-shorter-classes.html?nclick_check=1 Now, personally I am the type of girl who like school the traditional way. I like to be able to do my work in a timely fashion and I like to understand what I am learning before I just move on to the new topic. I am the type of learner that need visual aid and extra help if I need it. I do understand though, that other people learn in all kinds of ways. Everyone is diverse and we all take things in different context, so I can see as to why people would like to have class this way. I would not take these classes personally, but I do think it is very creative for ASU to think for this. Although, I do think that they have to consider which classes they are offering in these protocols, because as I was reading the comments people are becoming frustrated with the fact that engineering classes are offered like this. I would have to agree with that because engineering is a difficult major, and to condense even more is probably very challenging for the students. ASU has to take into account how well these students are really doing in these situations. If they are doing poorly, then what is the point of offering these classes compared to the traditional type if no one is doing well in them. ASU to me is a very good school, but to others is has a lot to be desired, so that plus the fact that students would get less time to learn can cause employers to take a deep look in to hiring a ASU grad. I think if you can learn in this environment then you should take these classes if you think they fit your needs, if not then don't. We are all students, adults, people of the real world we can make our own decisions. ASU is not telling us we have to take these classes, they are giving us the option and it is our own choice if we take it. They are considering the students life outside of school when they thought of this. Many people have full time jobs, families, kids to raise and bills to pay. These classes give us the chance to spend less time in the class room and more time taking care of the things that we need to handle. I am an ASU girl so I am glad that they are thinking of new and inventive to get students to the school. So that's all, Peace, Love, and Happiness.
Love, is love, is love!

Hello my fellow bloggers, going on the topic of my last past I want to continue on my opinion on being gay, and if they should be married and given the same rights that we are? I say why not? When did love become a political issue? I personally think that if you love someone, no matter what sex they are, or what race they are, you should be able to marry them. We do not live in a world where these things aren’t common, and maybe this is my opinion because I am from the younger generation and it has become a part of my lifestyle to just become used to these types of things in society. Now, I don’t remember if I have claimed a religion to all of you yet here on my blog but if I haven’t, let me be the first to tell you that I am Catholic. I believe in all the harsh topics like, pro-life and giving up things for lent, and in confession and all that jazz, but if there is one thing that I want to speak out about its gay rights! I am the type of girly girl that believes in LOVE, and I feel like those who are in love should be able to share in that love whichever way they choose. If a gay couple wants to get married they should get married, if they aren’t bothering you why do you feel that you should bother them. The only reason they are a problem in your life, is because you are letting them be a problem. Just think, if we allowed gay couples to be together, and get married and adopt children, could you imagine how many kids will be adopted into a loving family instead of being passed from home to home. These couples could provide then with not only love but hope, trust, respect and a family to call their own. I am not trying to impose my views on anyone but I felt if I was gonna write about gay marriage I might as well state my whole opinion. I am open to hearing any response to any one of my beliefs, because I am not here to judge and I like to speak freely about why I believe in the things that I do. So that is all in the mind of a GMC. Peace, Love, and happiness bloggers.
